RECEIVE A MONTHLY HEALTH TIP
We've been learning about Body Types. In August, we covered the Pituitary Body Type. The October Health Tip discussed the Thyroid Body Type. The Adrenal Body Type was reviewed in November. After taking a break in December to discuss the immune system, we will discuss the final Body Type—The Gonadal Body Type.
The primary characteristics of the Gonadal body type include shorter height, enhanced sexual development, fine bones, smooth skin, small hands with tapered fingers that are usually shorter than the palms, and thick, coarse hair Most Gonadal
types are women.
The epitome of a gonadal body type women would be the singer Dolly Parton. Gonadal type males tend to be short and strong with substantial amounts of body hair, often on their backs. Males are usually five feet nine or shorter, and
women are usually under five feet three. Gonadal body types are often pear-shaped.
Gonadal types crave rich, creamy, and spicy foods, and red meat, which overstimulate the gonads (ovaries and testes). This overstimulation eventually fatigues the gonads and results in functional problems in their reproductive system, including symptoms of menopause.
Eliminating spicy and creamy foods from a Gonadal type’s diet allows the ovaries or testes to normalize their function and rebuild themselves naturally. Occasionally it is necessary to support these glands nutritionally (see appendix A for details). Gonadal types thrive on a light breakfast, a light lunch, and a larger dinner.
THE GONADAL DIET
Abundant amounts of the following:
Fresh vegetables (80 percent cooked), fruits, low-fat dairy products, legumes, whole grains, and red clover tea.
Moderate amounts of the following:
Ocean-fresh fish, free-range poultry, vegetable oils, eggs, raw nuts and seeds, fruit and fruit juices.
Avoidance of the following:
Red meat, spices (Mexican, Italian, Indian, and others), sour cream, cream (especially ice cream), butter, margarine, Crisco, sugar, rich desserts and refined carbohydrates, coffee or tea.
GONADAL BODY TYPE WEIGHT GAIN PATTERN
Larger breasts in both men and women, and dimpled weight gain on hips and thighs (saddle bags).
If you are a G-type trying to lose weight, you should eliminate gonadal stimulating foods, and avoid snacking between meals. Try to leave four or five hours between breakfast and lunch, and five or six hours between lunch and dinner.
