July Health Tip: Self-Testing to Detect Disease-Causing Bacteria

Bacteria are an essential part of the continuum of the natural world. They fill a niche in the external environment, and assist nature in the essential recycling process of decay and degeneration. In the human body, there are over four hundred different kinds of bacteria that contribute to our health.

Bacteria are significant players in the renewal process of nature. It is important to note that less then 10 percent of all bacteria contribute to the disease processes, while over 90 percent are here to help us. As a matter of fact, without their help, we would not be able to live successfully on planet earth.

Bacteria have the ability to transform and mutate quickly, constantly adapting to the changing internal environment in the body. If the defenses of our body weaken or begin to degenerate, detrimental bacteria gain an opportunity to overcome our immune system, which leads us further into a state of dis-ease.

In the medical war on bacteria, the overuse of antibiotics has created resistant strains in virtually every class of bacteria, which pushes our body’s defense system to the limit. Essentially, we have forced bacteria to mutate into rebel strains in order to survive. These strains now have the ability terrorize any immune system that operates at less then 100 percent. This is why it is so important to have an immune system that works at peak performance levels.

In observing patterns of health and dis-ease in my patients over the years, I have observed three necessary steps for ridding the body of harmful bacteria.

Locate and correct weakness present in the immune system. You can begin this process by using the self-test procedures and follow up with an evaluation by a chiropractor or other natural health care practitioner. This important step enhances and empowers the immune system to take better care of bacteria by itself. When we remove the interference that exists on the structural, biochemical, mental, emotional, or spiritual levels, the body is more capable of intensifying its own defenses.

Introduce a natural antibacterial substance (listed in appendix A) that does not adversely effect the body. This will render the internal environment unsuitable for bacteria, as they only flourish within a certain temperature range and within a specific range of pH. Antibiotics are commonly used for the purpose of reducing the effect of detrimental bacteria in the body, but they do so at the body’s expense. If you want to eliminate a fly that is on your piano, you can either use a flyswatter or a hammer. Both of these techniques will kill the fly, but using a hammer also damages the piano. When they are necessary, antibiotics save lives, and they should be reserved for life-threatening situations only. Less invasive solutions should be tried first, drugs second, and surgery absolutely last.

Introduce beneficial bacteria into the body for hand-to-hand combat. Introducing billions of beneficial bacteria into the digestive tract will reduce the number and the virulence of disease-related bacteria in the body. The sheer number of these beneficial little critters helps to overrun the competition. When dealing with microorganisms inside the body, it is always preferable to let beneficial bacteria do as much of the dirty work as possible.

If disease-producing bacteria have taken up residence in your body, you will experience recurring bacterial infections. Following these three simple steps will reduce chronic infections, improve overall immune system function, and provide increased energy levels because the immune system isn’t busy fighting bacteria anymore.

Locate a natural health care practitioner near you who can evaluate the presence of bacteria either through muscle testing or stool samples. Resources are listed in appendix A of Health Is Simple Disease Is Complicated.

You can test yourself to evaluate the conditions in your body. Muscle self-testing is used for testing nutritional remedies, but it can also be used to evaluate any situation in your body.

Muscle self-testing uses yes-or-no questions to help you determine which remedies are right for any system in the body. This process can be used to determine your dietary needs, cleansing options, food choices, organ vitality, structural areas of need, and answers about beliefs and feelings etc. Although there are several options, I employ the following finger muscle-testing procedure.

Test your index finger by using the strength of your middle finger as illustrated.  Muscle Self-Testing

  1. Actively point your index finger.
  2. Place the pad of your middle finger on top of the nail of your index finger.
  3. Keeping your index finger active and straight, push down with your middle finger to meet the resistance of your index finger.
  4. A positive response (a “yes” answer) is indicated when your index finger remains strong in the extended testing position.
  5. A negative response (a “no” answer) is indicated when the resistance provided by your index finger is eliminated. The straightened index finger will flex downward, toward your palm, as if the muscles have been switched off.
  6. Practice testing for positive and negative responses for several days before asking specific questions or testing any remedies. Relax, and let your Inner Intelligence show you how it is done.  After all, a muscle test is a way to communicate with the wisdom of your Inner Intelligence.

Keep in mind that any muscle test is specific to the present moment, and it can be influenced by your mind. To be successful in using this valuable tool, it is essential that you find a way to shut off your questioning mind.
